Middle Eastern venue helps educate Indian children
Middle Eastern restaurant Fern W Fekhar works with an India-based organisation that helps in the educational development of vulnerable and/or deprived children.
The restaurant's name translates to "oven and claypot" in English, and serves traditional regional dishes with a modern twist.
The handmade claypots that Fern W Fekhar serves its dishes in are handmade by members of the India-based Crescent Educational Society (CRESDO), an organisation that helps in the educational development of children from vulnerable families and the socio-economic development of women from rural areas.
CRESDO has been involved in developing young girls’ education in Andhra Pradesh while providing skill development training and supporting livelihoods of women.
"There's a homelike feel every time you visit Fern W Fekhar, from the warmth of the decor to the family-like atmosphere - not to mention the homestyle dishes on the menu," said Coastal Investment Group CEO Khalid Abdulghaffar Hussain.
Fern W Fekhar is currently located in Mirdif Uptown Mall and will be opening its second branch in October 2014 on Jumeirah Beach Road.
