The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has urged diners to report restaurants in Oman that still add an 8% service charge to bills, reports Times of Oman.

A new rule regarding service charge came into effect last year when the Sultanate’s tourism law was amended.

Hotel restaurants, or outlets in tourist areas, can still ask customers to pay a service charge, according to the PACP.
