    Study reveals key taste trends for the coming year

    Casual, comfort dining will drive restaurant trends across the hospitality industry over the next twelve months according to American food publication Flavor & the Menu.

    The magazine’s annual report Top 10 Flavor Trends 2009 suggested that modern interpretations of the classic barbeque would become the top concept trend for 2009, pointing to the growth of the popular ‘urban barbeque’ approach among restaurants.

    The French bistro tops the list of comeback trends, while Italian inspiration is leading the dessert world towards indulgent gelato and semi-frozen specialities known as semifreddo.
