Celeb's restaurants in battle of taste
Two celebrity-owned Dubai-based restaurants will battle it out in a ‘Ready Steady Cook’ style challenge at this year’s Taste of Dubai.
Executive chefs from Verre by Gordon Ramsay, Hilton Dubai Creek and Gary Rhodes’ Rhodes Mezzanine, Grosvenor House will compete in the Chefs Theatre at two afternoon sessions on Friday and Saturday afternoon of the festival.
Supermarket chain Spinney’s will provide two mystery bags to the competitors who will then have to concoct dishes in 20 minutes; the audience will vote to decide the winner.
Taste of Dubai’s event director Victoria Crick said: “The Chef’s Challenges will be great entertainment for the whole family.
“All the chefs share a passion for fine food and cooking, which is what Taste of Dubai is all about — they love the opportunity to meet event visitors who share their enthusiasm.”
Visitors also have the chance to get up close and personal to some of the celebrity chefs hosting demonstrations during the event at the Mark Wilkinson Chefs Theatre; big names performing on the rostrum include Gary Rhodes, James Martin and Giorgio Locatelli.
Taste of Dubai takes place in Dubai Media City’s park and amphitheatre from March 11-14.
