Bvlgari Dubai opens 9-seat Japanese restaurant, Hōseki

Dubai's Bvlgari Resort has opened a new exclusive restaurant at the property. The restaurant called Hōseki, meaning “gemstone” in Japanese, has only nine seats.

The Japanese chef Masahiro Sugiyama following cultural Japanese traditions, offers a two hour Omakase experience.

The guests will arrive at the typical Japanese reception area called Tokonoma – a dedicated space to receive guests in a traditional house – which features Bonsai plants and power stones. The Japanese hostesses, dressed in traditional kimonos, welcome the guests and guide them to the Japanese style open counter.

Omakase is the most traditional way to enjoy Japanese food. Depending on the guests’ preferences and seasonal Japanese ingredients, the chef Masahiro Sugiyama serves his own interpretation of renowned dishes. With over 157 years of family sushi traditions, chef Sugiyama is the 6th generation sushi chef in Tokyo.

The restaurant is located on the fourth floor of the hotel is open for lunch and dinner five days a week and closes on Sunday and Monday. Reservations are required as there is no walk-in policy.

Hōseki opens for lunch from 12.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. with last order at 2.00 p.m., and reopens for dinner from 6.30 p.m. to 12.00 a.m. with two seating options at 6.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.
