Bangkok's Gaggan scoops Asia's Top 50 gong for fourth time
Bangkok’s Gaggan restaurant has scooped the top prize for Asia’s 50 Best restaurants for the fourth time in a row.
The second place went to Den in Tokyo, Japan, helmed by Zaiyu Hasegawa. In third place was another Tokyo concept, Florilège with Hiroyasu Kawate on the pass.
Bangkok returned in fourth spot with Sühring from German twins Thomas and Mathias Suhring, followed by Singapore's Odette in fifth place.
In sixth place was Tokyo's Narisawa, with seventh rank going to Amber in Hong Kong, China. Shanghai's Ultraviolet by Paul Pairet was eighth, Tokyo's Nihonryori RyuGin ranked ninth, and rounding off the top 10 is former winner, Nahm.
Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards is now in its sixth edition, and the Thai capital's restaurants also features in fourth and tenth place with , and former winner, Bangkok's Nahm by David Thompson.
In total, nine restaurants from Bangkok featured in the top 50. The awards covered a variety of categories, including Asia’s Best Female Chef 2018, which went to Bangkok-based restaurant, Paste’s chef Bongkoch "Bee" Satongun.
