Atlantis, the Palm events team beat stiff competition to take home top prize
Atlantis, The Palm Events Team took home the events catering team of the year award at the 2018 Caterer Middle East awards.
Atlantis, The Palm, according to the judges, manages to cater to large-scale events with a small permanent team, resulting in long-term client retention since its launch 10 years ago.
The award was picked up by vice president of food & beverage Sascha Triemer, executive chef Cedric Darthial, banquet operation manager Ahmed Ramadan, and director, events Shams Attalla.
The 32-member team operates 24 hours a day in shifts and has carried out approximately 6,300 events since its launch including major events like GESF, and the Dubai Air Show Gala Dinner.
“The Atlantis events and catering team excels in client retention, with some of the biggest annual events in Dubai returning for more than nine years consecutively based on the consistently standout experiences that evolve from the team.” said Attalla.
"I think when you put together big events, attention to detail is very important as is having a good team behind you especially if you are to create a standout experience," Attalla added.
The award was presented by Peter Haag, acting chief commercial officer of Emaar Hospitality Group.
The nominees for Events Catering Team of the Year were: Fairmont Ajman, Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet Events Team, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and Hilton Dubai The Walk, Hospitality Dubai World Trade Centre and JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.
Highly commended nominee in this category was Hospitality Dubai World Trade Centre.
