Armani Hotel Dubai executive pastry chef Fabien Fayolle took home the top honour at the Caterer Middle East Awards 2019.

Riyadh Hassan of Aramtec was on stage at the JW Marriott Marquis to hand over the Pastry Chef of the Year Award to Fayolle’s colleague Corylie Suarez, as the chef unfortunately couldn’t make the event.


With over 15 years of international experience in some of the industry’s most exciting independent outlets and hotel restaurants, Fayolle’s career has taken him all over the world.

Our judges spoke with great delight, and at length, at the quality and creativity shown in the pastries at Armani Hotel under Fayolle, commenting on the near-perfect consistency of the offering.

His CSR initiatives are also of the highest standard, including teaching children from the Senses Centre for the Determined how to make gingerbread houses during the festive season.

The Caterer Middle East judges were in agreement that he continues the fine tradition of world class French pastry chefs and is truly an asset to Dubai’s F&B scene.

Speaking to Caterer Middle East at the awards, Suarez said: “He is an exceptional pastry chef and he has dedicated his entire career to perfecting the art of pastry making.”
