The Italian Trade Agency has helped bring almost 40 companies to Dubai to present their wares at the Specialty Food Festival.
Italian cuisine is revered around the world so unsurprisingly it’s one of the most popular areas at the show, with Dubai particularly fond of it with over 100 Italian restaurants in the city.
To that end, the Italian Trade Agency is hoping to increase the number of Italian companies doing business in the region.
Trade commissioner Gianpaolo Bruno told Caterer Middle East at the Speciality Food Festival that its aim is to “help newcomers establish their presence here as well as helping companies that are already in the market to consolidate”.
To Bruno, there’s few better ways to showcase Italy than through its food, claiming that “food is a mirror of Italian lifestyle. It is an integral part of our culture.”
On day two of the Specialty Food Festival, Bruno said that the feedback so far has been good. “I think companies are very happy. They are looking forward to receiving more visits from local as well as regional distributors and specialised professionals. We’re looking forward to seeing more and more Italian business in this market.”
