Hospitality by DWTC nabs 37 wins at Salon Culinaire 2018
Hospitality by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) won 37 accolades, including the title of ‘Best effort by an individual establishment’ for the eighth consecutive year, at Salon Culinaire during Gulfood 2018.
A team of 44 chefs from DWTC participated in the five-day event across multiple categories including: Five-course Gourmet Dinner, Emirati Cuisine - Practical Cookery, An Arabian Feast, Ice carving, and Pastry Showpiece.
The chefs won 12 gold medals, 11 silver, 14 bronze and eight merit awards. Among these winners were Taha Boudhib who secured a gold medal with distinction in the Cake Decoration - Practical by Masterbaker category, and Jayson Cueto who won eight medals including four gold, two silver, one bronze, and one merit.
The Emirates Salon Culinaire is a culinary competition evaluated by a panel of 30 international experts and mandated by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS). The annual contest, featuring a range of different categories, gauges gastronomic skills of professional chefs from across the region.
