Asian speciality coffee shop Kaffe Bloom is set to host a Japanese cooking class where chef Tatsu will guide you through the basics of dashi.
Known as the foundation of Japanese cuisine, dashi is used as the base for all types of broths and sauces. It is made with ingredients that contain high levels of natural MSG such as dried kelp and shiitake mushrooms which provide umami flavour to your dish.
The cooking class takes place on Saturday, June 22 and is followed by a dashi tasting dinner with four dishes including udon noodle with wagyu beef.
