China Grill makes way for Asia de Cuba Dubai

The restaurant will open its doors on March 6 at The Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort

With outposts in New York and London, Asia de Cuba Dubai will open on Tuesday March 6.

The restaurant will take over the space previously occupied by China Grill which will shut its doors on Tuesday February 27.

The two-storey venue will undergo a complete makeover to reflect Asia de Cuba’s aesthetic, with bespoke wallpaper, furnishings and décor. The wrap-around terrace will also be transformed to give the space a Latin American feel.

“We’ve had a great four years with China Grill, but we like to mix things up and now is the time for a little shake-up,” said The Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina general manager Tolga Lacin.

“We share a great working relationship with the team at China Grill Management so when they presented us with the opportunity to take on Asia de Cuba, we couldn’t miss it!  Asia de Cuba is the perfect addition to our already impressive F&B family and we’re really excited for the big reveal.”

The sharing style menu, created by Cuban-born executive chef, Luis Pous is a fusion of Latin and Asian cuisines. Asia de Cuba signature dishes such as Tuna pica Tartare with crispy wontons will be on offer as well as Spanish olives, toasted coconut and avocado ceviche, ‘ropa vieja’ spring rolls with braised beef short rib, rocoto sweet and sour sauce, shrimp churros with sesame and coconut curry; roasted Peking duck with chili herb salad, tortillas and hoisin.

Guests will be immersed into the carnival-like atmosphere of the streets of South America with reggaetón rhythms and a live Latino band.
