Samer Hamadeh, founder of Aegis Hospitality, who opened Akiba Dori in Dubai Design District earlier this year, as featured in the July issue of Caterer Middle East, found himself being ‘threatened’ by a food blogger after denying a request.

Last week, Hamadeh took to Twitter to tell his story of how a food blogger asked to come and review his most recent opening, but turned nasty when Hamadeh refused to accommodate his request to bring a party of six along with him on a Friday night.

According to Hamadeh, the unnamed food blogger replied saying that “they never get limited by any restaurant in the world and that they can pretty much make sure no one from the blogger community visits my restaurant EVER with one review so I need to decide” [sic].

Hamadeh was not intimidated by the blogger and said on Twitter that he simply replied “I look forward to reading it.”

So far Hamadeh has refused to name the blogger in question.
