Capital Club Bahrain hosts lunch to thank local farmers

Capital Club Bahrain held a thank-you lunch, in association with Bahrain Development bank, for local farmers in a bid to encourage more F&B operators to use local produce.


The members-only club is aiming to use 60% Bahraini products in its menu, and plans to do so by strengthening its relationship with farmers in the local area and encourage new, innovative way of farming such as hydroponic.

Capital Club Bahrain general manager Sumeet Jhingan said: “Our goal is to encourage other food and beverage operators and hoteliers to walk with us towards sustainable farming.”


Increasing its use of local products to 60% of the menu would also reduce the dependence on international produce, and part of the lunch’s purpose was to showcase the agricultural potential in Bahrain.


Head chef Miklos Hulber put together a six-course menu for the farm and bank representatives, using produce selected from the local farmers themselves.
