Mohalla, an Indian street food concept, is set to be added to the dining delights in Dubai Design District, with an opening scheduled for September.
It’s the first Dubai restaurant for Atelier House Hospitality, whose CEO Ahmass Fahakany revealed to us in our July issue that a UAE opening was imminent.
The name comes from the word for ‘my neighbourhood’ in many languages including Hindi and Arabic, and was chosen to evoke the flavourful cooking of the community neighbourhoods in India.
Interior designer Samar Zakhem aimed to immerse the Mohalla diners in the culture of India, with custom hand sketched art of an Indian street, and custom designed carpets from Gujarat.
Mohalla promises to be a casual dining spot that won’t break the bank when it opens in September.
