Sean Connolly at Dubai Opera is set to close on January 15, the British-born chef told Esquire Middle East.
The restaurant opened in September 2017, bringing Connolly's 25-years of experience to the region for the first time, and closes despite receiving good reviews during its time.
Speaking exclusively to Caterer Middle East before the restaurant opened, Connolly talked about what drew him to the project: “The most exciting thing for me was that it was a landmark location. Something very special. There was nothing in here. We fit it out with my architect and styled it up to deliver a cool casual brand.”
Described as a "contemporary brasserie, with an uncomplicated and produce driven menu serving seafood and steak, which can be enjoyed in the main restaurant, the cocktail Pearl Bar or at the rooftop terrace with an impressive view of the Burj Khalifa", there is no word yet on the reason for the closure or on what will be replacing it.
