Much-lauded Singaporean chef Reif Othman is making his return to the kitchen following the end of his Sumosan contract with a series of pop-ups and collaborations in Dubai.
The former Play and The Experience chef began 2019 with a sell-out pop-up at High in Dubai’s Jumeirah burger restaurant High on January 13 and he confirmed to Caterer Middle East that he will follow it up with three further appearances at concepts in the city in the coming week.
His first stop is Craft Café on January 31, the Roberto Segura run outlet which focuses on wholesome, healthy food in Dubai Design District.
Then Othman will be turning his attention to Slab at La Mer on February 3. He’ll be working with head chef Omar Rodriguez to hopefully bring the crowds in to the artisanal sandwich shop which has struggled with a lack of consistent footfall in the area since opening a year ago.
His final destination on this whistlestop tour of homegrown concepts will be another Segura venture, the Peruvian restaurant Waka at the Oberoi.
Keep an eye on Othman and the venues’ social media pages for more details, as with Othman’s pop-up at High selling out almost immediately you will need to be quick to ensure you don’t miss out.
