Caterer Middle East can exclusively reveal that Izu Ani, the chef who ranked number one in this year’s Caterer Power List, is set to name his new restaurant Aya.

Meaning beautiful in Japanese, Aya is all but confirmed to be a Japanese concept, with chopsticks and origami also adorning the outside of the venue.

Aya, which is replacing the recently shuttered Galvin Dubai at City Walk, is set to open in September, in preparation for the city’s busy season.

It follows the success of Ani’s GAIA restaurant in DIFC which opened at the tail end of last year and is now set to spread around the world with locations in Monaco, Moscow, Miami, and London planned.
