Homegrown pizza chain 800Pizza has reported 8% sales growth and 20% profit growth in Q1 of 2019.
The Dubai-founded pizzeria said it has been consistently profitable since its inception in 2007 and remains debt-free.
Founder Alessandro D’Ubaldo said: “I am proud of how well the brand performed over the years and remained resilient to negative market sentiments. While we have had some challenging years in the recent past, I always believed that customers would back a quality offering. We proved it yet again by taking care of customers’ taste-buds, thereby ringing-in robust recent quarter performances.
“I am even more confident now that UAE’s F&B segment is shaping up for great times to come, more particularly we are just 15 months from the Expo 2020 kick-off. My biggest thanks go to my business partner Belhasa Hospitality Group and my team of 140 plus employees.”
D’Ubaldo also confirmed that the brand isn’t looking to rest on its laurels, and is open to investment.
He said: “The pizza chain is looking to expand in the region and beyond. We are ambitious in building a larger and stronger portfolio by partnering with investors who are a strategic fit.”
