Mediterranean concept Boca Dubai is supporting the Plastic Free July movement as it tries to further improve its sustainability credentials.
Although it has long pushed for greener working practices in its restaurant, Boca will partner with local zero-waste activist and environmentalist Mariska Neil to take it further this month.
The drive behind Plastic Free July is to encourage people to refuse single use plastics, and to get into a mind-set of ‘refuse, reuse, recycle’ whenever possible.
Boca already works on a demand driven stock basis and aims for local sourcing whenever possible, with general manager Omar Shihab recently working with a number of sustainable farms in the UAE to use their produce.
Keep an eye on Boca throughout July as they reveal more about their plans.
