Floating hotel the QE2 is launching a series of themed food nights to take diners around the globe.
The Culinary World Cruise Series will see guests dock in India, Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean, without leaving Port Rashid in Dubai.
It’s based on famous destinations the QE2 visited during its cruising years, with the first stop in India on Sunday evenings. A weekly changing buffet will include traditional Indian salads, breads, and starters with main courses such as chicken tikka trios, tandoori vegetables, and murg masaka.
Asian night is on Wednesdays with a sample of dishes from across the continent. Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, China, Japan, Indonesia, and beyond. Expect beef pandang, pad Thai, and live stations serving Peking duck, dim sum, and sushi.
On Arabic nights on Thursdays there will be a fresh range of classics from across the region. A buffet will offer hot and cold mezze, freshly baked breads, grills, ouzi, and tharid.
Fridays are for Mediterranean nights with food from Spain, Italy, Greece, the Balkans, Morocco, and Turkey. Weekly changing dishes will include pickled octopus, tzatziki, and cous cous while live stations will offer paella, pasta, and grilled meats.
It’s set on the Quarter Deck at the Lido and prices vary between AED125 and AED155 for the buffets with soft beverages, while free-flowing bubbly packages can be added for AED100 per person per hour.
