To feature on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants lists can be the pinnacle of a chef or restaurateur’s career, with few making the grade.
But now, in a bid to showcase some of the incredible restaurants and bars that don’t quite make the grade, a new 50 Best Discovery database featuring concepts that didn’t quite make the grade has been released.
While no Middle East restaurants made the 50 Best list, a number from across the region have made the Discovery database.
There’s 14 in Dubai including Tresind and its sister restaurant Carnival by Tresind, Akmal Anuar’s 3 Fils, and Folly by Nick & Scott.
Abu Dhabi is represented by Hakkasan, while Beirut has 13 restaurants and bars included.
The list is aggregated automatically based on number of votes for each venue for the last World’s 50 Best list, which can lead to no longer open concepts, such as The Artisan by Enoteca Pinchiorri in Dubai, appearing.
