The flagship restaurant of the 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant chain, which has an outlet in Abu Dhabi, has been awarded a Michelin star.
99 KO Sushi Bar in Madrid was given the accolade in the 2020 edition of the Michelin Guide for its two sampling menus based on hot food and traditional sushi.
Bambu Group, which owns the brand, executive chef David Arauz runs the restaurant and is also the brains behind the menu at 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant in Abu Dhabi.
Jamie Castaneda, general manager of 99 Sushi Bar Ltd, said: “We are thrilled to give UAE residents and tourists the chance to experience the Michelin-approved dishes at 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant in Abu Dhabi. Very soon, we will open our newest restaurant in Dubai, which will also feature David’s creative dishes on the menu.”
The group is set to open a new location in Dubai in 2020.
