Almost three-quarters of UAE millennials choose travel location based on food options

74% of Hotels.com respondents believe cuisine is the biggest deciding factor

The importance of F&B offerings has been highlighted once more by a survey in which 74% of UAE millennials said they chose their holiday destination based on the cuisine on offer.

Hotels.com Tasty Travels report also revealed that posting instagrammable food is more important than posting pictures of their friends to many young travellers, the former beating the latter by 74% to 30%.


Hotels.com president Johan Svanstrom said: “Experiences are the new wealth and food provides one of life’s most pleasurable experiences, where there’s always something new to try when you travel.”


There was good news in the survey for budget food offerings also, as 37% of UAE millennials prefer dining at street food options compared to 17% at Michelin starred restaurants.
