British chef Joseph Murphy has been appointed to the role of executive chef at The St. Regis Abu Dhabi.
With almost 20 years of international experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Murphy’s new role will see him responsible for the hotel’s six restaurants and bars as well as its banqueting operation.
Although he started his career at the Sheraton Grand London, Park Lane, Murphy’s most recent postings have been in neighbouring Gulf countries for St Regis hotels & Resorts and the Marriott brand.
The St Regis Abu Dhabi GM Moustafa Sakr said: “It’s a great pleasure to welcome Chef Joseph to the team. Joseph joins us at a key time where as we are now in the sixth year of operation the hotel is investing in enhancement of our F&B offering. Culinary innovation in this area has always been fundamental for our hotel, and continues to be as we focus to deliver new projects to the city such as the re-opening of Asia de Cuba in the coming months. Chef Joseph’s expertise will be a key component of driving this and we are confident that his expertise will continue to drive the success we have achieved in Abu Dhabi’s competitive hospitality market.”
