According to FoodKarma, a third of all food produced each year is wasted, equating to 1.3 billion tonnes and US$1 trillion worth of food lost. In the UAE alone, AED13 billion ($3.5 billion) worth of food is wasted, amassing 3.27 million tonnes of waste annually.
