Saudi Arabian Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed, known for his vegan lifestyle and plan to open a range of plant-based restaurants across the Middle East, has a new venture to encourage companies to develop vegan options in their menus.
Folia, a partnership with Californian plant-based chef Matthew Kenney, is starting by launching a vegan menu at the Beverley Hills Four Seasons Hotel and has plans to launch at F&B concepts around the world in the near future.
The name Folia comes from the Latin for 'from the leaves', and hints at the wholly plant based culinary selection.
Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed said on Instagram: “Our goal is to open their guests/customers eyes to how beautiful and nutritious plant based food really is.”
He added: "This new venture will introduce healthy menus to people who otherwise would not have had an opportunity to see the arry of options available in the plant-based world; especially when a master chef is at the helm."
Kenney has opened vegan restaurants around the globe, including in Australia and Canada, and the prince is an investor in Matthew Kenney Global.
