From its new manufacturing base in New Zealand the Moffat Group builds well known foodservice and bakery equipment brands including Waldorf, Turbofan, Blue Seal, Cobra, and Paramount Complementing its manufacturing capability in certain markets the company also engages in distribution of brands and products which assist their capability to deliver the best solutions for the customer.
While Moffat has been owned by the Ali Group since 2000, the business has its roots in heavy duty, modular cooking platforms and convection oven systems dating back to the 1970s.
Long established in Australasia and the Pacific, with sales and distribution branches in the UK since 1983 and USA since 1989, and managing international activity out of New Zealand, the company is engaged with a well-developed network of partners in Canada, Mexico, Latin America, SE Asia, and most recently in the Middle East market.
According to the companies GM and group export manager, Stuart Murray, they have been delighted to be active in the UAE market for more than 10 years as well as Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia - where their product solutions are seen adding real value.
He said: “Our brands sit in a highly desirable space where they offer the construction, performance and durability of North American or German Brands, but with more attractive styling akin to European brands. In addition to specification by consultants in five and four-star properties, we are having success as an alternate offer — providing real savings to operators without compromising quality or durability.”
The company prides itself on being the backbone of the kitchen and through considered design and construction, the products are built to perform. There are no apologies to be made. No compromises in power and performance. Products are designed to cook fast, be easy to clean, and easy to service. Strong commitment to product development — with new products in the pipeline right now the company also just released its medium duty series Cobra, with restyled features and aesthetics — perfect for the emerging unit sales business.
Murray explained: “Aside from our manufacturing quality and design attributes, the most important thing we do for the local market, rather than having one exclusive distributor, we retain flexibility to work with any contractor of the customers choosing, and support them with installation, use and care training for as well as core spare parts for every project. Working with every main contractor who a client asks to tender a project, this assures the user of the best price and support from the manufacturer.”
Adding: “Of course we also have valued local partners who carry inventory of core lines for immediate delivery.”
The UAE is the world’s most exciting foodservice marketplace according to Murray, which he takes responsibilty for working in and developing. “I have been travelling here over the last 10 years and we have been focussed on establishing some really solid reference installations which we can show have stood the test of time and delivered in this particular market. I look forward to every opportunity to personally listen to customers needs and work with them to find the best solution.”
